This is a quick swing by post to show you my first ever applied icord button band. I'm so excited. IT WAS RIGHT FIRST TIME! Phew. It would probablybe incredibly helpful of me to link to the YouTube video that I found most useful, but there wasn't one. There are a load of videos on this technique, and everybody did it slightly differently. The most useful tip I found was to use needles two sizes smaller than you used for the main knitting. This has worked a treat. No puckering or stretching due to inaccurate band length.
The CustomFit cardi is going for a swim before zip insertion takes place. I'm not one of these knitters that carefully pins out their knitting on blocking boards before they seam. There's a reason for that, but I won't rant about that now. My knitwear gets a bath or a steam iron after it's completed. It does seem sensible to get this cardi wet before zip insertion in case the yarn decides to do something.
Keep your eyes peeled. You might yet see finishing glory this week.
